A group of student leaders were trained to organise a Sandwich-making Competition for residents from the Braddell Heights Zone C Residents Committee. This was the school’s third year of partnership with the RC. The project, entitled “Friendly Faces, Lively Places – Project Inspire 2”, was a collaboration between the school and HDB to promote healthy living. The students had a fund time interacting with the residents and sharing healthy eating habits with them. Some of the residents have joined all the SG-HDB initiated activities. The students also shared about their learning experiences in school to build awareness of SGS in the community. Ajin from Sec 2A1 shared, “Ultimately, I think everyone enjoyed the event; be it taking part in the competition or helping around. This was a great and meaningful way to spend my Saturday morning.” Ghazi from 2E1 was glad he participated, “This is by far one of the best ways to kick-start my Saturday. This is one way in which Serangoon Garden Secondary School can reach out to the wider community. I really enjoyed seeing everyone immersing themselves fully in the competition and having fun.”
