School Staff Developer

Elaine was appointed the SSD in 2011, and is responsible for the professional development of all the teachers and the non-teaching staff. She was previously the HOD/ Humanities, overseeing the teaching of Geography, History, Social Studies and Principles of Accounts. She was trained in Geography and English but focuses now on teaching Geography. She has been in Serangoon Garden Secondary since 2003 when it merged with Serangoon Garden Technical School where she used to teach.

She studied at Paya Lebar Methodist Girls’ School and Anglo Chinese Junior College before going to the National University of Singapore to do her Bachelor of Arts (Hons) degree, majoring in Geography. She obtained her Diploma in Education and the Diploma in Departmental Management at the National Institute of Education. She received the National Day Commendation Medal in 2002 in recognition of her contributions to education.
