Mr Ng Chee Kheong

Principal

Chee Kheong has been in the education service since 1980. He received an MOE post-graduate scholarship to pursue a Master in Education at the National University of Singapore. Being deeply interested in Science education, his dissertation focused on how students’ interest in Science correlates with their Science achievement. Subsequently, he also graduated from NTU/NUS with a Diploma in Education Administration.

His experience in education is wide, having served in various secondary schools, as well as at the education services and curriculum planning unit of the Ministry of Education HQ for 4 years. He was the Vice Principal of Dunman Secondary, Temasek Secondary, Anglican High School and Anderson Secondary before heading Anglo Chinese School (Barker Rd), Upper Serangoon Secondary and Siglap Secondary as Principal.

He has been a Principal for 13 years. As the Chairman for the East Zone Centre of Excellence (Visual Art) from 2004 – 2009, he helped to build the capacity of primary and secondary teachers in Visual Art. Under his leadership, his previous school was recognized for niche development for Performing Arts.

As the Principal of Serangoon Garden Secondary, his education philosophy is that every student has the potential to be nurtured. This has helped to drive his passion and commitment to the education service. He believes that this school can be a school of choice in the Serangoon Area.
