TLLM Ignite 3!

The Mathematics department is awarded MOE’s TLLM Ignite 3! Resource Package for its school-based curriculum innovation “Hierarchical Mathematics Teaching and Learning @SGS”. The school-based curriculum innovation aims to better meet the learning needs of our pupils in Mathematics.

The resource package includes funding, opportunities for our teachers to receive further training in curriculum design, pedagogy, assessment and educational research as well as to attend local and overseas conferences.

Outstanding Contribution Award 2009 (Team)

A team of Maths teachers, in collaboration with EL teachers, who designed and conducted the school-based curriculum innovation – Sec One Orientation Mathematics and EL Trail@HortPark, was one of the recipients of the annual Outstanding Contribution Award (Team), in recognition of its contribution to the holistic development of our Sec 1 pupils. The teachers are Mrs Ravi, Mrs Chan Siew Eng and Mrs Loh Si Lan.

Australian Mathematics Competition (AMC) 2009

In the competition held on 6 August, 2009, our pupils garnered a total of 4 High Distinctions, 34 Distinctions, 22 Credits and 5 Certificates of Proficiency. Fu Hui Hui and Teo Qi Qi of 2E3 (2009) obtained the Prudence Awards from the Australian Ambassador at the AMC Annual Awards Presentation Ceremony on 22 Oct 2009.
