Marina Barrage (2011)
In February 2011, a group of Sec 2 Express students visited Marina Barrage and learnt about why Singapore faced a serious problem of water shortage. They also studied how the four National Taps helped to solve the problem of water shortage in Singapore. Opportunities were given for cooperative learning as they were encouraged to work together to gather information.
Worksheets were provided to facilitate direct students’ learning. They visited the gallery and completed the worksheets by referring to the information provided there. Students who went on the field trip felt that the visit to Marina Barrage has helped them to understand how the local catchments supplied water to the population in Singapore.
