Humanities Week 2013
In 2013, the Humanities department organised the annual Humanities Week from 16 – 18 October. The event provided inspiration as well as the creation of opportunities for joyful learning of the various humanities subjects. The week was jam-packed with exciting activities.
The theme of Logo Challenge tied in with the topic of globalization and enlightened students with regards to the ways globalisation affects them in their daily lives. It incorporated fun and general knowledge as students made use of the clues provided to play the game using the school’s iPads. All the Secondary 2 Express and Normal Academic classes took part in the challenge.
The challenge helped expose students to world flags and capitals of different countries. There was a total of 2 rounds for the GeoChallenge competition, one which took place in the class and the other, across the level. All the Secondary 1 Express and Normal Academic classes took part in the challenge.
Exploring the World of Football and the World of KPop
Furthermore, there were two exhibition showcases featuring the World of Football and Exploring the World of KPop and how globalisation has impacted these two popular cultures. Students from the Upper Secondary level viewed the exhibition over two days.
