Curriculum and Pedagogy

The department’s curriculum aims to enhance purposeful engagement of pupils. With this aim in mind, the department has introduced Problem-Based Learning (PBL) as an approach in its Lower Secondary programme. This is to ensure that pupils engage in issues that are authentic and develop soft skills such as confidence in presenting ides and opinions. Pupils will also be required to work in teams. In addition, the department promotes learning journeys. Visits to IKEA, the Red Dot Museum and Health Promotion Board support pupils in contextualizing discussions in the classroom. In addition, the department proactively participates in elective programmes organized by the various polytechnics.
